So how does this
mobile analysis work you wonder? You have a car you cannot either crack
or lack the scan tool or info so you call me, I show up within a few
minutes and viola! It's fixed and you pay me! Yeh, I wish...
The real world is I can get to your shop within a
day or so, and get it done on the first trip. Most of the programming
and such usually goes that way, but not always. Here are a few things
that help me when I get there:
- A place to work. On nice days outside is fine.
Otherwise I need a bay and I might need to pull my Explorer in for
analysis repairs so I am not running back and forth.
- Internet - wireless preferred. If you have it and
don't know the WEP key call your pc guy right now and hurt him for
me! Have the key on your business card and be ready. I use a wi-fi
card but it may not work in a large metal building and it won't do
an NGC3 quickly.
- If you want to talk my ear off while I'm working
- don't:) You've worked on it for a few days and want me to fix it
in a few minutes so I need to think and not talk. Kill the radio
that is blaring in the background as well. I am becoming comfortable
in telling employees to do so and to leave me alone. Hey, fixing
these alligators isn't easy - try doing it for a living!
- I may need a hand tool or tool once in a while.
Point me in the right direction or send me someone to pull things
apart. So far this is worked well. I will teach anyone that wants to
listen to what I am doing once I have a direction and the finish
line in site. I have no secrets. Life is too short for that dribble.
- When the job is done I need paid then, please have the check or cash ready.
- I may need to bail and come back the next day.
Don't hand me the phone to call your customer (no kidding, it's
happened several times...) cause I won't:)
- If I can't fix it or program it I leave and don't
charge you. Yep, that happens too (twice so far)
- Most fees are $75 for programming and $100 for
analysis. If there are multiple issues with the car the price goes
up. If you have a budget tell me first. The highest I have charged
so far was $200 for a three-visit man and tree made disaster.
- A charged battery always helps...:)
- Thanks to all of my current customers who have
supported this endeavor!
- I also want to thank my God and wonderful family
for standing behind me and this business!
